Pumpkin patches near Franklin that work with a toddler

The pumpkin questions start in August at our house. These are the patches I'd consider with a toddler this fall, with 2026 dates, prices, and the details that make or break a trip with a two year old.

Gentry Farm, Franklin

1974 New Highway 96 West. The closest one to town, and the one I'd pick first.

Open September 26 to November 1, 2026. Saturdays 9am to 5pm, Sundays 1 to 5pm, and Mondays 9am to 1pm. Last admission is 45 minutes before closing.

$13 a person, and kids under 2 and adults over 65 are free. Tickets are sold at the gate. Pumpkins are extra, usually $2 to $12, and the picking is best earlier in the season.

For little kids, the tractor playground, farm animals, tire swings, wagon rides and indoor maze are the draws. The corn maze and mini golf are better for bigger siblings.

The restrooms are portable toilets, which is good to know if you're in the middle of potty training. The farm says one to two hours covers everything, which fits a morning before nap.

Noble Springs Dairy, Franklin

3144 Blazer Road. A goat dairy that opens up for fall farm days, with baby goats to hold, farm animals, kids' activities, fall treats and a pumpkin patch.

Select days through October 31, 2026. Wednesdays and Fridays 10am to 1pm, Saturdays 10am to 2pm, and Sundays 1 to 4pm. Not every day is open, so pick from their calendar.

$12 a person, and 2 and under are free. Tickets are sold by date, ahead of time, and dates do sell out. They stay open in ordinary rain and only close for severe weather, in which case they'll refund your tickets or move them to another day.

They also host Goats & Guitars, an evening of live music with the baby goats, on Friday October 9, 4 to 8pm with music starting at 5, and again Saturday October 24, when they haven't posted the time yet. It's $15 a person and free for 2 and under. Bring chairs, and outside food is allowed.

Lucky Ladd Farms, Eagleville

4306 Rocky Glade Road, in Rutherford County. Bigger than Gentry, and more of a drive.

Fall Harvest Festival through October 31, 2026, Wednesday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Gates close an hour before the farm does.

Kids under 2 are free. Everyone else needs a ticket. Pick-a-Day tickets start at $10 online and $17 at the gate, and the price changes with the date and time you pick. An Any-Day ticket is $30, online only. Admission covers the petting farm, zoo and fun park, which is where a toddler will want to spend the day.

Buy online before you drive out. The farm expects October dates to sell out.

One to skip with little ones: Glow Nights on October 23 and 24, 6 to 9pm. It's a corn maze in the dark.

Walden Pumpkin Farm, Smyrna

8653 Rocky Fork Road. Over in Rutherford County, not to be mixed up with the Rocky Fork Road in Nolensville.

Open September 26 to October 31, 2026. Thursdays and Fridays 2 to 6pm, Saturdays 9am to 6pm, and Sundays noon to 6pm.

The activity wristband is $12 for ages 4 to 64. Kids under 4 don't need one, and shopping for pumpkins is free. With a toddler, you're only paying for the grownups.

Honeysuckle Hill Farm, Springfield

1765 Martins Chapel Church Road. North of Nashville, so plan it as a day trip.

Fall Festival, September 26 to November 1, 2026. Saturdays 10am to 8pm, Sundays noon to 6pm, and weekdays 9:30am to 1:30pm, with Fridays open until 6. During Fall Break, October 12 to 16, it's open 10am to 6pm every day. It's closed Mondays and some other weekdays outside Fall Break, so check their calendar.

Kids 2 and under are free. For everyone else:

Admission covers more than 20 activities. For a toddler, that's the carousel, petting farm, tree house village, jumping pillows and hayride, plus the weekend shows like the pig races. The zip line and corn maze are for older kids, and the premium extras take a separate punch card.

It costs more than Gentry and it's a long drive. It makes the most sense if you've got a five or six year old along too.

Franklin Pumpkinfest

Saturday October 24, 10am to 6pm, and Sunday October 25, 11am to 5pm, on Main Street downtown. It's the 41st year and the first one that runs two days.

There's food, live music, a craft marketplace, costume contests and a KidZone, and no admission is listed. It draws a big crowd, so with a toddler I'd be there right at 10 on Saturday.

The free ones

Fall Festival at Riverbend Nurseries, 2008 Lewisburg Pike, Franklin. Saturday October 10, 10am to 2pm. Free, with hayrides, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, a bounce house and face painting. Food is for sale.

Family Day at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm, 239 Franklin Road. Saturday November 7, 2026, 10am to 2pm. It's the City of Franklin's free fall festival, with wagon rides, pony rides, a petting zoo and cane pole fishing.

It's on my list of free things to do with a toddler in Williamson County too.

A note on Morning Glory Orchard

Morning Glory Orchard in Nolensville said in August that they wouldn't have u-pick this year, and the orchard grounds are closed to the public through October 31 for school field trips. The store stays open Tuesday through Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and the grounds reopen for self-guided visits November 3 to 7, Tuesday through Friday, 9am to 2pm.
